Lesa Dowell

BROker

I’ve been a Davie County resident since 1983 and have lived in Bermuda Run since 2000.  My husband Mike, a financial advisor, and I moved here when our oldest child started kindergarten because of the great schools and the chance to raise our family in a great neighborhood.  We raised our two children, Ashley and Evan,  on the 14th green of Bermuda Run Country Club for sixteen years  in that house, until Mike and I downsized to a townhome in the same neighborhood.  Now as a family, we all enjoy playing tennis and golf together and we’ve recently added pickleball into the mix. We absolutely love the carefree, low maintenance way of life in the Warwicke Place community. Our Shih-tzu, Sophie Marie, is the queen of the house.  If you follow my social media, you’ll see A LOT of Sophie Marie and her eyelashes!

Background

I worked at Bermuda Village Retirement Community for seven years as the Director of Marketing and later the on-site Real Estate Agent.  Helping seniors find their perfect retirement home is one of the most rewarding jobs I’ve ever had.  I have a great understanding of the real estate market in Bermuda Village and have seen first-hand how moving to a retirement community enhances the lives of retirees.  Staying active is so important as we age and there is a lot to offer in our community to keep busy.  Our area consistently ranks high in places to retire based on weather, cultural events, cost of living, proximity to world class medical care and affordable housing.

When Lesa Isn’t Selling Real Estate

You can find me on the tennis courts, pickleball courts or the driving range trying to learn to play golf.  So far, the ability to play golf has escaped me, but I’m not giving up.  I’m not embarrassed to slow down a foursome or lean on a much better team of golfers to carry me along in a couple’s twilight captain’s choice.  I also love to just walk the beautiful golf course in Bermuda Run in the early morning hours to see the wildlife there – great blue herons, deer, rabbits and turtles.

Bet You Didn’t Know

I had a previous career as a personal chef before becoming a real estate agent.  I love to cook and started an apprenticeship with a personal chef going into client’s homes and cooking up to a month’s worth of meals for them, stocking their freezers.  The business grew and we built a commercial kitchen, expanding our personal chef business and branching out into catering large corporate events, weddings and parties.  I still love to cook and you’ll find me in the kitchen night after night cooking gourmet meals for Mike and I.  If you follow my Instagram, Facebook or Tik Tok accounts, you’ll see lots of those recipes and photos of the meals I prepare.  It’s truly my favorite way to relax and spend time with my husband and family.  Food is my love language!
